Things to know about the upcoming presidential election.
This will be the 60th presidential election, which is scheduled Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. Voters will elect a president and vice president for a four-year term. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden are running for re-election.
If Trump wins, he will become the second president to achieve nonconsecutive terms, after Grover Cleveland. If both Trump and Biden are nominated by their parties, it would mark the first presidential rematch since 1956.
The winner of this election is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, 2025.
There are 538 members of the Electoral College, and the presidential candidate will need 270 to win. Most opinion polls declare President Trump as the winner.
During his term as former president, Donald Trump took aggressive pro-life actions, fully supported Israel, and signed the First Step Act into law (a sweeping criminal justice reform bill designed to promote rehabilitation, lower recidivism, and reduce excessive sentences in the federal prison system). He supports severe penalties such as the death penalty for trafficking drugs and murdering police. Trump supports tariffs, tax cuts, and resuming energy production. He will secure our southern border.
It is possible that America will be made great again—God Bless America!
